Radiography is the most commonly known non-destructive test method. Radiography can be used to obtain permanent image of surface and sub-surface (embedded) discontinuities.

Ultrasonic control of materials control is to derive properties of materials without its destruction.

The magnetic method of quality control is used to detect surface defects and surface (at a depth of about 6 mm) in ferromagnetic materials. It is based on the principle of magnetic induction.

Visual inspection is applied before any other methods of control of the weld. This control method is relatively inexpensive, does not take much time, and can provide very useful information on the quality of the welds and the need to check with other methods. To assist with visual inspection limited and inaccessible parts of the structure used to improve different - magnifying glasses with lights.

One of the control of tightness of welded joints is a vacuum based technique that can change the pressure in the test weld.
